| This is what i thought would be a interesting tactic for our team which will required the use of unmanned vehicles. Several of us have experience controlling remote piloted/driven things (not the little RC toys from walmart)
Right now our primary project is to create a tank that is versatile for all terrain including steep mountainsides. We also have a "kid napper" van where we can store all of our equipment and set it up all FBI style at the field. If we do get this off the ground...I'll see about writing a UV tactics guide. lol
Just wanted to see your thoughts.

| I actually think that would be pretty cool. I always see people with airsoft vehicles(ex:cars/buses/helicopters). I would love to see some pictures! | |

| well helos/and manned tanks get to be outrageous. why not just robotic recon for rough terrain? Since this is part of modern warfare...special thanks to the navy. | |

| n/p bama_snipes UGA!!!
Yea to make this i would have to rely on one of my friends who is a RC guru. I would assemble it. according to revised design.
I may make it so it were to fit in a small back pack. it will still be bigger than your average sized RC tank because im upping the horse-power and the processing power. the remote will have its own LCD.
Now the army has made a new hover cam which they can control on a similar LCD controller. its pretty cool too

| You can get like a little toy car(remote controlled), put a camera on it and ride it down to the enemy to see there provisions, who they are, and what gun they carry. | |

| no, because little toy RC's cannot handle the elements as well as lets say a custom made device. little toy cars are also noisy.
so im going to stick with the thing that is meant for outdoor recon

| I want to try and attach a cheap airsoft rifle to the top of an rc vehicle like the army does but with real guns . | |

| Impractical because the time it takes to tilt and pan the gun in the direction of the target is too long. and they can "capture" it by then just send it in with a suicide pact. (airsoft grenade). then upload a hack that erases everything off of its flash mem. | |

| Please don't say hack , lol , we basically just want the tank and rifle for fun purposes only and not for a war . | |

| ok...
Thats why they made the manned tank w/ the minigun mounted. the total price of the tank leaves the minigun at $300. what a steal right? lol

| If you found a way to quite the vehicle so it was like a stealth car than you wouldn't need to be able to aim to quickly as the enemy hopefully is just moving quietly and slowly. | |

| thats another design. for another time right now were mainly focusing on field recon vehicles equiped with the infamous suicide pact. and about 1000$ worth in home made thermal/night/ and IR cameras.
Keeping the size down to a <back pack. now that there is a challenge. this way we can scope out uncertian areas quietly w/o risking team members.
Here is a idea of what challenges our recon unit faces -stumbs, -fallen trees -steep hills -uneven surface -underbrush -possibly muddy conditions -climate (rain, sleet, snow)
under brush won't be a problem in the fall and winter because most of the skimpy stuff dies away, but things like briars we would need to avoid completely

| Yeah briers are an airsofters worst enemy , hey I need to post that on the thread . What airsoft role do you fear the most , huh , lol . You seem to have all of the factors , but how about making it amphibious . | |

| an amphibious vehicle would be hard because it would be heavier unless i made it entirely out of foam. And im not about to send $200 + in electrical hardware w/ a foam block across a pond to see if it floats. | |

| Ive already used UAVs and there great. To make anything you can use a robotics kit called VEX. You can make anything. We play at a field where its cut in half by a creek I have a UAV that stays in an area with a anchor and a swivel turret on top for a SAW. | |

| OK I read through this entire topic and have only one thing to say.
No.
No- it's overcomplicated, only of use over a HUGE time frame, expensive, in no way fool proof, and probably not hugely effective.
No- the ideas you guys are slinging around are pretty ridiculous
No- some of you are clearly making some of this stuff up *cough*satan*cough* How does a 13 year old afford to purchase complex robotics, let alone have the technical ability to use them? And also, saying you have an Unmanned Arial Vehicle with a SAW on it just for AIRSOFT is clearly the most outright lie I have ever seen on these forums.
HOWEVER- Just using one of those RC planes with a camera mounted on the bottom and flying it over the airsoft field before the game to get a vague idea of the layout and positions of your enemy would be feasible.
