| I'm asking this question for a friend of mine who is looking to really start Airsofting on a more professional level, and graduate from his Both Elephant XM8. He is looking for either an M4 or a SCAR-L that is under $200 and works well straight-from-box.
I recommended to him either the D-Boys SCAR or the G&G GR16.
Are either of these well-made guns and/or can you recommend something better for his price range? | |

| You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Both fine suggestions. I'd like to add that any G&G or Classic Army guns would be a fine search as well. I believe the M16 you suggested is a better buy, however. Best of luck to your friend. Anyone have any more suggestions or comments to add? | |

| Thanks. I have tried to persaude him to get a G36C(I have one myself, the aforementioned JG), but he's adamant about "American weapons". | |

| Nah, I meant the metal GR16. And the Echo 1 SCAR is over his budget, sadly. | |
