| Here are a few guidelines for you guys, just so you can be more realistic.
How to wear your trousers: Always blouse your trousers! This gives you a better, cleaner appearance. There are two ways to blouse your trousers: stuffing excess trouser material into your boots and using items called "boot blousers".
The US Marine Corps prefers the use of boot blousers over stuffing the excess material into boots because the material in the boots will make your boots look chunky. Boot blousers are essentially cotton-covered rubber bands with hooks on the ends to hook them together. If you do not have boot blousers, plain rubber bands do the job just as well. To blouse your boots with boot blousers, you need to put your boot blousers around your boot between the 2nd and 3rd eyelet from the top. You will then let your trousers leg go over the boots. Grab the boot blouser while holding the material with the same hand. You will basically be rolling the material below the boot blouser into your trousers leg. You should roll your trousers leg until you are a little bit above the top of your boot, about a centimeter or so. Your boot sock should be showing slightly, but not enough that there's just a massive gap. From a distance of 10-20 feet, your sock should be barely noticeable, and even then only noticeable by a trained eye.
How to wear your blouse: Your blouse should be covering your belt and belt buckle.
When your sleeves are worn down, the cuffs should be buttoned as tight as they will go. This is how to roll your sleeves. First, button the cuffs so they are the widest they can be. (I hope that makes sense) Spread the arm out at the natural curve of the material. Fold the bottom half of the sleeve over until it almost touches the edge of the elbow pad. There should be about a centimeter to a half centimeter of space in between. Grab the cuff and fold it over once. Stick your thumbs at the part of the cuff facing away from the rest of the uniform. Push the material through so the inside of the cuff is shown. Repeat this step until your are a little bit above the pad on the elbows. Your sleeve rolls should be 2-3 inches wide, and about 3-4 inches above the elbow, depending on how long your upper-arms are.
How to wear a cover: A cover IS NOT TO BE WORN LIKE A BASEBALL CAP! The cover is not a hat, is a head ornament. It is meant only to cover the top of your head and keep your head warm! When putting the cover on your head, you are to pull the bill down so there is a distance of your middle finger and index finger between your nose and your cover. The reason the bill is down so low is to force the wearer to bring his chin up. This increases the look of military bearing. The cover should be about three-quarters of an inch to an inch away from the top of your ears.
I will try to post pictures when I can.

| Excuse the double post, but I just wanted to throw this out there as well.
A big thing about jewelry: It is against regulations to have more than one ring on each hand, and they may not be flashy. If Identification Tags are worn, they are to be underneath the under shirt, against your skin. If you do not wear silencers around the tags, they are to be taped together with plain black electric tape. I will try to post a pic if I can.
That's what your tags should look like. I have two sets of tags on my chain, plus a few other things, haha.
You can see my old tags in some of the pictures above, but those were taken before I was issued some new tags. (Got 'em just yesterday!)
I also realize my tags aren't in my shirt in the above pictures, don't give me "Watch your language", haha

| Haha, Mike, you make me laugh. I also have some bling on my hand; a silver ring that says USMC on it, haha. I'm real gangsta. As for uniform pictures, I'm not sure. It's rather difficult to take pictures with my shitty webcam, and I don't own a camera. My Mom does, but she won't let me use it, and my Grandad has one, too, but he won't use it 'till Christmas Day. | |

| your mistake on the dog tags my friend it is united states military polocey that you keep one tag on your chain and one in your boot. the reason being you get your head blasted off you tags could be lost but the one in the boot will tell who you are. also i don't like having the cap 3/4 of an inch above my ears is it ok if it's lower, or is this only for formal pictures? | |

| Mike did you ever see my money ring that I wear on my vest to SC? 3 guys asked me why i wear it, I told them I killed a man and took the ring from him and that he's over in those bushes. They laughed but didn't say anything to me and switched teams... https://s919.photobucket.com/albums/ad40/PierceMarks/Airsoft/ | |

If your gonna say somthing stupid..just no thats just ..just wow I can't even find the apropriate response for that The tag in the shoe and one on the neck is not actual policy due to modern science *DNA*.(Standard US military chains are issued with one, 2.5 mm, 24-inch neck chain, and one, 2.5 mm, 4-inch duplicate chain. The secondary chain, and duplicate tag, are recovered if needed. The primary chain and tag remain with the soldier at all times.) And any "gansta" refs in the Marines/Army will get you kicked out so fast you wouldnt know what hit you. If you want 100% accurate info I believe the most current information can be found in the MCO P1020.34G W CH 1-5.<---Marines. Ah and if we have any Southerners here...don't get the Rebal flag tattoed on you they wont accept you. Happened to a friend.

| Yeah what the "Watch your language"? Stomping on a guy's face to make an imprint. Yeah right, whoever told you that is an idiot.
Anyway..... I'm pretty sure the cap 3/4" above the nose thing isn't just for formal pictures, probably for inspections, ceremonies, etc.

| Umm, from what Ive been told by my grandpa that stormed D-day, he said there required to put the soft part of a tag in between the teeth of a fallen soldier if the dog tags have a chance of being taken by the enemy, you smush it between thier teet...
This is not common anymore because we do not fight in a large scale war with thousands of bodies and not very good ways to identify them... I guarantee you it is last resort, but still used if the need be.

| I looked it up on snopes.com which is a rumors site apparently. Having the casualty's tag placed in his teeth and having another man kick his jaw shut, imbedding the tag into his upper jaw, was proven false.
Sorry to burst your bubble but your grandfather probably heard that as a private from a cook in the mess hall.

| Snopes isn't very reliable. I heard on the news they get paid off by certain people to say certain things. | |

| Forget snopes..it was never policy, period. Look through any of the Armys FM's, Marine MCO's and w/e the AF uses, there never was such a policy. | |

Theres a helluvalot of ways to ID a corpse, its not all visual. You're more likely to have a limb blown off and perish from blood loss then to have your head taken off cleanly anyway. Its just another way to 'scare the grunt'.

| That's probably best...as it was pointless in the first place.
And trying to look like a marine when you aren't is just going to get your ass kicked (unless you're in JROTC, Young Marines, etc.) I hate when people buy all the rank patches and medals, those are things that should be earned honorably, not purchased.
